Lead a high-performing Emergency Department team within a respected acute care hospital environment in New England. This position oversees Emergency Department operations within a well-established acute care hospital serving a diverse community population. The ED supports a steady volume of patient visits annually and offers a full spectrum of emergency and trauma services. Opportunity:

• Provide operational and clinical leadership for a busy Emergency Department
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and day-to-day department operations
• Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on safety, quality, and service excellence
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development of nursing staff
• Ensure competency validation, staff education, and ongoing clinical development in partnership with education teams
• Monitor and improve key quality and performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, throughput, and clinical outcomes
• Drive process improvement initiatives and participate in quality committees and performance improvement planning
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
• Support shared governance and staff engagement through councils and advisory committees
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, EMS partners, and hospital leadership
• Participate in leadership rounding, environment of care rounds, and safety initiatives
• Manage department budgets, FTEs, and resource allocation to meet operational targets
• Promote evidence-based practice, clinical inquiry, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ASN considered with experience Master’s degree (MSN) preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required (Emergency Department experience strongly preferred)
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a hospital setting required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days of hire
• TNCC, NRP, and CPI training preferred (or obtained within the required timeframe)
• Certification in Emergency Nursing or Nursing Leadership preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Ability to manage operations in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
