Position Summary:

The System Director of Finance serves as a key member of the finance leadership team and a trusted advisor to executive leadership. This role is responsible for advancing the organization's financial health, improving operational effectiveness, supporting enterprise growth initiatives, and strengthening long-term financial sustainability.

The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight across financial operations while building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Southeastern, US

• Provide strategic leadership for system-wide financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Lead Reimbursement, Decision Support, and Financial Management functions, ensuring operational excellence and organizational alignment
• Develop and implement standardized financial processes that improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency across the health system
• Assess and enhance revenue cycle performance through data-driven analysis and targeted improvement initiatives
• Partner with executive and operational leaders to align financial strategies with organizational objectives and growth plans
• Develop sophisticated forecasting models and financial planning tools that support informed decision-making
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB, GASB, and applicable healthcare regulatory requirements
• Strengthen internal controls and proactively identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks
• Oversee budgeting, financial analysis, profitability assessments, and month-end and year-end close activities
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development across finance teams
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO on enterprise initiatives and long-term financial planning

Education & Credentials:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
• Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related discipline) strongly preferred
• CPA designation preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare finance experience
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience with demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
• Deep knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle operations
• Comprehensive understanding of hospital and physician practice financial structures, revenue streams, forecasting methodologies, and cost management strategies
• Proven track record of driving financial performance, operational improvement, and revenue optimization initiatives
• Experience leading within complex healthcare systems or multi-entity organizations strongly preferred
• Proficiency with healthcare financial systems, decision support tools, revenue cycle platforms, and analytics technologies
