Lead enterprise-wide Benefits strategy for a large, complex, integrated healthcare system in Texas. This is a high-impact, onsite leadership role for an accomplished Benefits professional with deep expertise across health & welfare, retirement, compliance, and HRIS who thrives in highly regulated healthcare environments and is ready to influence Total Rewards strategy at scale.
This senior leadership position is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and communication of comprehensive employee benefit programs across a multi-divisional healthcare system. Working closely with Compensation, HRIS, and executive leadership, the Director of Benefits plays a critical role in delivering competitive, compliant, and cost-effective programs that attract, engage, and retain top talent.

Opportunity:
• Design, implement, and administer best-practice benefit programs while managing cost, quality, service delivery, vendor partnerships, and compliance
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Benefits team in an onsite, collaborative environment
• Partner with Compensation, HRIS, and executive leadership to deliver a cohesive and competitive Total Rewards strategy aligned with organizational objectives
• Manage relationships with external consultants, brokers, actuaries, trustees, and outsourcing partners
• Ensure all benefit plans and plan changes comply with ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, healthcare reform laws, and reporting requirements
• Oversee plan design, evaluation, and implementation for medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, STD/LTD, pension, 403(b), 401(k), non-qualified, and voluntary benefits
• Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and service delivery
• Collaborate with HRIS and IT partners on system optimization, integrations, and automated enrollment tools
• Serve as the escalation point and subject-matter expert for complex benefits issues
• Ensure clear, timely, and accurate benefit communications across the organization
• Develop metrics and analytics to assess utilization, cost effectiveness, and ROI of benefit programs
• Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with organizational values
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline required, Master’s degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred (e.g., CEBS, CBP, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive benefits leadership experience within a large, complex organization (healthcare preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise across health & welfare, retirement, and executive/non-qualified benefit plans
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems required
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience developing and leading professional teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
• High attention to detail with a strong compliance and governance mindset
