Interim Quality Director | RN Required | Hospital | Illinois

Opportunity:
• 150-bed, TJC Accredited facility
• Reports to a highly supportive Chief of Quality
• Manages and develops a team of 4 FTEs, ensuring effective utilization of resources and maintaining high-performance standards
• Coordinates preparation for The Joint Commission's triennial survey as well as any potential "for cause" surveys
• Develops and implements action plans to address identified quality and safety issues
• Provides strategic leadership for Quality/Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and Patient Experience initiatives
• Delivers expert guidance on TJC and IDPH requirements, driving continuous improvement in quality and safety standards
• Oversees clinical initiatives for critical areas such as Sepsis and Stroke management
• Act as a liaison between the hospital and federal, state, and accrediting bodies, ensuring regulatory compliance across the organization
• Leads the development, implementation, and annual review of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Plan, submitting it to the Board of Directors for approval
• Administers the budget for the Quality department, ensuring operations remain within financial constraints
• Facilitate data collection and timely submission for The Joint Commission, CMS, and other accrediting bodies through selected vendors
• Monitors trends and analyzes performance improvement data, including medical staff peer review, reporting significant findings to appropriate committees and senior leadership
• Ensures organization-wide education on principles, tools, and concepts supporting performance improvement, patient and staff safety, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
• Current Registered Nurse license (any state accepted)
• 5-10 years of experience in a quality director leadership role
• Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certificate in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety preferred
• Training in Lean methodology and TeamSTEPPS is preferred
• Strong knowledge of TJC standards and IDPH regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-stress situations and resolve conflicts effectively
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
• Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time schedule, M - F, or as needed
