Interim Clinical Risk and Patient Safety Consultant | RN Required | CA | Onsite
Location:
Opportunity:
• 350+ beds Level III Trauma Teaching hospital plus clinics
• Lead the complaint and grievance management process, addressing backlogs and ensuring timely resolutions
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and coordinate safety event reviews and investigations
• Establish and implement corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
• Manage and analyze risk management data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Recommend revisions to new or existing policies and procedures to minimize future risks and ensure compliance with current standards
• Report incidents and sentinel events to the appropriate parties
• Provide feedback to department directors to help eliminate risks and assist clinical chairs and department heads in designing effective risk management programs
• Utilize a hands-on, proactive approach to manage complaints and grievances, ensuring smooth operations and improved outcomes across the facility
Qualifications:
• RN license required
• Five (5) years of clinical experience as an RN is required
• Previous experience in Risk Management or medical-legal activities
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred
• Cerner and EPIC charting experience preferred
• Experience with RL Solutions for event reporting
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately are required
• Understanding of tools and techniques used to identify system or process failures that contribute to patient safety issues
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations related to health care and accrediting/certifying agencies such as The Joint Commission and CMS
• Requires computer proficiency and capacity to analyze data and formulate meaningful information
• Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time schedule, M - F, or as needed
