This assignment offers an experienced Infection Prevention professional the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a respected community hospital while supporting a leadership team during an important period of transition.

New Jersey

• Provide hands-on Infection Prevention support while helping maintain continuity of regulatory, surveillance, reporting, and daily program responsibilities
• Work closely with Quality and hospital leadership to assess current Infection Prevention priorities and identify areas requiring immediate attention
• Conduct healthcare-associated infection surveillance and ensure timely, accurate reporting through NHSN and other required systems
• Support compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission, State Department of Health, CDC, and other applicable Infection Prevention requirements
• Perform Infection Prevention rounding throughout clinical and support areas, and guide identified risks or opportunities for improvement
• Assist with infection investigations, data review, trending, reporting, and follow-up activities
• Serve as an experienced Infection Prevention resource for nursing, physicians, Quality, Employee Health, and other hospital departments
• Support regulatory readiness activities and assist leadership with preparation for surveys, audits, and compliance reviews
• Review current Infection Prevention processes, policies, and practices and recommend practical improvements where needed
• Provide education and coaching to staff regarding Infection Prevention standards, practices, and regulatory expectations
• Work independently while maintaining strong communication with hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams
• Opportunity may offer potential for transitioning into a permanent position based on mutual interest and organizational needs

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• RN strongly preferred
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology strongly preferred
• Recent acute care hospital Infection Prevention experience required
• Strong knowledge of CMS, The Joint Commission, State Department of Health, NHSN, and CDC Infection Prevention requirements
• Experience with healthcare-associated infection surveillance and NHSN reporting required
• Experience conducting Infection Prevention rounding and supporting regulatory compliance activities
• Ability to quickly evaluate an Infection Prevention program, identify priorities, and work independently with limited day-to-day oversight
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across nursing, medical staff, Quality, Employee Health, and other hospital departments
• Strong computer, documentation, data analysis, and reporting skills
• Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time interim schedule
