The Director of Quality will partner with a visionary Vice President of Quality & Risk Management to rebuild the department from the ground up while strengthening collaboration, elevating performance, and breaking down silos across Quality, Patient Safety, Risk, Infection Prevention, Regulatory, and Data Analytics.

Opportunity:

• TJC-accredited acute care hospital serving a broad regional service area
• Reports directly to the Vice President of Quality & Risk Management, a highly engaged and forward‑thinking leader
• Provide leadership and oversight for quality, patient safety, and performance improvement functions
• Lead a team of quality, safety and performance improvement professionals, supporting continued development, role clarity, and department effectiveness
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate current workflows, strengthen collaboration, and support potential department restructuring
• Revamp quality metrics and reporting to improve communication, accountability, and support across internal departments
• Provide leadership for quality reporting, patient safety initiatives, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement priorities
• Support efforts to improve patient outcomes, care quality, patient experience, and organizational performance
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify trends, address gaps, and drive sustainable improvement
• Support transparency, healthcare equity, safety culture, and continuous improvement across the organization
• Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews
• Utilize data and reporting tools to monitor progress, guide initiatives, and elevate organizational performance

Qualifications:

• RN Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Quality, or related field required
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in hospital quality, patient safety, regulatory, or performance improvement leadership
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting is required
• Strong knowledge of TJC standards, quality reporting, patient safety practices, and regulatory readiness
• Experience leading quality teams and supporting staff development, accountability, departmental performance, collaborating with clinical departments, executive leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to evaluate existing processes and implement practical improvements across quality and safety functions
• Knowledge of quality dashboards, event reporting systems, action plans, and performance improvement methodology
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead change, manage competing priorities, and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement
