Director of Facilities Management | Acute Care Hospital | Alabama

Galileo Search is conducting an exclusive search for a Director of Facilities Management on behalf of a respected acute care hospital system in the southeastern United States. This is an essential leadership position for a strategic-minded, hands-on professional committed to safety, compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence in a complex healthcare environment.

The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the physical environment supports clinical excellence, patient safety, and comfort. This position oversees facility operations for a 400+ bed acute care hospital and reports directly to the System Director of Facilities Management.

Alabama

• Oversee budgeting, maintenance, purchasing, planning, and related facility management activities
• Ensure the safety and security of all patients, visitors, and staff while supporting operational efficiency and growth
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance oversight
• Provide leadership and direction to maintenance staff and facility operations teams
• Support engineering, plant operations, life safety, environment of care, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance programs
• Drive initiatives to ensure facility readiness, infrastructure reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, and local codes

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; CHFM, CHC, or similar certifications desirable
• Proven experience in hospital facilities management, including regulatory readiness and emergency preparedness
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and life safety codes
• Familiarity with construction, architecture, and systems such as HVAC and electrical
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage capital improvement projects
• Track record of success in managing accredited acute care hospital facility environments
