Galileo Search is partnering with a highly regarded not-for-profit healthcare system to recruit an experienced AVP - Finance. Our firm has been their recruiter-of-record for over a decade. This high-profile position will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). • This position reports directly to a highly supportive Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and involves collaboration with various senior leaders across the organization
• Plan, direct, and manage the overall financial performance, financial policies, internal controls, accounting practices, budgets, and financial reporting for a healthcare system
• Lead the Reimbursement, Decision Support, and Financial Management departments, providing oversight and strategic direction
• Develop consistent financial processes and workflows across all facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Oversee financial processes and functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strong internal controls
• Complete data requests, financial analysis, and budgeting, and manage month-end and year-end closing responsibilities for the Reimbursement and Decision Support departments
• Work closely with senior and executive leadership to ensure optimal financial performance and support for strategic initiatives

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s Degree preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant healthcare financial management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role within healthcare finance is preferred
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines
• Expertise in healthcare reimbursement and revenue cycle management
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a track record of problem-solving and financial innovation
• Proven ability to build, lead, and coordinate an effective financial team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands while maintaining a high level of performance
• Continuous awareness of changes in the healthcare industry and their impact on financial operations
• Experience in improving revenue cycle effectiveness and driving financial performance in healthcare organizations
