• 3+ month assignment
• 250+ bed TJC accredited Hospital, LTC, and Ambulatory Centers
• Reports to the Chief Quality Officer
• Hands-on Leader who manages the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the Infection Prevention program
• Conducts rounds to monitor compliance with recommended Infection Prevention practices
• Assess TJC readiness and prepare for survey, corrective action planning
• Ensures rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, CMS, FDA, state, local, and CDC requirements
• Continually evaluates all patient care and infection prevention procedures and activities within the facility while making recommendations for and taking all necessary steps toward continuous patient care improvements
• Conducts surveillance, analysis, reporting, risk reduction, and outbreak control
• Actively participates in formulating nursing and hospital policies and procedures in the area of infection control
• Educates employees and providers about infection control and contributes to staff training programs related to employee orientations and annual competencies
• Mentors novice infection preventionists, providing guidance and support

• Bachelor’s degree required
• RN, MT(ASCP), MPH
• CIC required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Infection Control in an acute care setting
• Proven knowledge and experience in the practice of epidemiological principles and infectious disease as they relate to infection control and prevention
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
• Available to travel to the client sites and work a full-time schedule, M - F, or as needed
