Remote Duties Performed by Experienced Infection Preventionists
- Monitoring of daily microbiology results, daily alerts, patient admission lists, and other infection prevention data
- Data entry of surveillance data into NHSN or other required databases
- Validation of surveillance data for reporting requirements to regulatory agencies
- Assist with the development, review, and revision of Infection Prevention program plan, annual risk assessment, department goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Reporting notifiable conditions as required by local DOH/health department
- Exposure, outbreak/cluster investigation
- Program evaluation for regulatory compliance
- Interfacing with Quality Control and Performance Improvement as needed
- Education program support including nursing and ancillary staff education materials and presentations and competency modules
- Transition workload support for New IPs
- Developing and writing committee reports
