Interim Assistant Director, Emergency Services | RN Required | Health System | Southeastern, US

Our client is a not-for-profit TJC-accredited healthcare system. This opening is located at their 500-bed flagship facility.

Support a growing Emergency Services program within a major regional health system in the Southeastern US.

We are seeking a hands-on working leader who is comfortable with occasional patient care responsibility.

Southeastern, US

Opportunity:

• 3 to 6-month interim assignment
• Reports to a highly engaged Director of Emergency Services
• Provide leadership support for a large, high-volume Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center
• Partner with Emergency Services leadership during continued growth and increased patient demand
• Oversee daily operations, patient flow, throughput, staffing, capacity management, and efficiency
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, EMS, inpatient departments, and ancillary teams
• Provide visible leadership to frontline staff in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
• Monitor key performance indicators, including patient experience, safety, length of stay, throughput, and door-to-provider times
• Support staffing, recruitment, retention, engagement, process improvement, regulatory readiness, and patient safety initiatives
• Mentor frontline leaders and quickly assess priorities while providing hands-on operational support

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required
• Progressive Emergency Department leadership experience required
• Previous experience as an Emergency Department Manager, Assistant Director, Director, or comparable nursing leader strongly preferred
• High volume, high acuity Emergency Department experience required
• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience is highly desired
• Demonstrated success in improving throughput, patient flow, staffing, quality, and operational performance
• BLS and ACLS required; additional emergency nursing certifications highly desired
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Available to travel and work a full-time onsite schedule
