Plant Operations Director | CAH and LTC | New England

Opportunity:

• Reports to the Associate Vice President of Operations
• TJC-accredited Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and 100-bed Long-term acute care facility (LTAC)
• Provides strategic leadership for Plant Operations, including building maintenance, biomedical services, and hazardous waste management across all hospital and long-term care facilities
• Oversees compliance with Life Safety Codes, CMS, OSHA, and standards for HVAC, medical equipment, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds
• Directs departmental planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation aligned with organizational objectives
• Serves as a trusted advisor on facility-related projects, safety concerns, and operational challenges
• Leads and mentors the Plant Operations team, ensuring high performance and professional growth
• Represents the organization on the University of Vermont Health Network Facilities Leadership Council

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of facilities leadership experience required
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, hazardous materials, and safety management
• Thorough understanding of healthcare facility regulations and compliance
• Excellent communication, team-building, and multitasking skills
• CHFM certification (American Hospital Association) preferred
• College education in maintenance or technical trade licensure preferred
