This is a mission-critical leadership role for a high-impact Change Agent with deep expertise in hospital Case Management. The organization is at an inflection point and needs a visionary strategist who can walk in, assess quickly, and lead decisively. Our ideal candidate will possess extensive experience breaking bottlenecks and accelerating throughput with precision while ensuring clinical appropriateness and financial stewardship, uniting teams, streamlining transitions, and improving outcomes.

Southeast, US

• 3–6+ month interim assignment with immediate leadership impact for a seasoned executive with a proven track record of leading transformational change in healthcare systems
• Report directly to an engaged and forward-thinking CFO
• Lead a case management department of 11 FTEs in a 100-bed TJC-accredited acute care facility
• Build and strengthen a comprehensive case management program where there is opportunity for growth, with emphasis on care transitions, utilization review, and discharge planning
• Foster strong interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nursing leadership, and ancillary services to enhance patient throughput and satisfaction
• Drive initiatives that improve length of stay management while upholding the highest standards of patient-centered care
• Serve as the change agent and strategic architect to design and implement policies, processes, and reporting structures that set the foundation for long-term program success
• Provide actionable insights to senior leadership through clear communication of outcomes, trends, and opportunities for improvement
• Lead with transparency, drive accountability, and innovation while mentoring a committed team through this and fostering a culture of collaboration during a period of transformation

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is highly preferred
• Active RN license in any U.S. state required
• Minimum of 5 years in progressive leadership roles within case management in acute care hospitals
• Strong expertise in utilization review, regulatory compliance, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination
• Experience building or transforming a case management program and driving dramatic improvements in LOS, CDI, UR and authorization processes required
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence across clinical and administrative teams
• Skilled at analyzing complex data to drive decision-making and measurable improvements
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments where change leadership is essential
• Proficiency with EMR systems; recent experience with Cerner/Oracle preferred
• Track record of leading teams through growth, accountability, and performance enhancement
• Availability to travel to the client site and work a full-time Monday - Friday schedule with occasional after-hours support as needed
