Opportunity:

•Reports to a highly engaged and supportive Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
• 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) | Level IV Trauma Center
• 9 state-of-the-art ED rooms
• Provides dynamic leadership for day-to-day ED management, balancing clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
• Directs staffing, workflow, and employee development while coordinating with HR for recruitment, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering effective work relationships
• Manages resources, supplies, and equipment efficiently while coordinating patient care and overseeing the facility's trauma program
• Drives continuous improvement in ED processes and outcomes by managing quality improvement initiatives, monitoring customer satisfaction, and implementing enhancement plans
• Facilitates committee meetings, participates in task forces, and collaborates with various stakeholders to align ED operations with organizational goals
• Develops and updates nursing policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to state board regulations and maintaining documentation standards
• Participates in disaster planning, maintains the trauma designation program, and promptly investigates and reports patient occurrences
• Reports required data, maintains department statistics, and reviews records for quality performance issues to support evidence-based practice
• Promotes the organization's mission, vision, and values while maintaining a safe and clean working environment that adheres to all regulatory requirements
• Protects patient confidentiality, ensures proper documentation, and coordinates with other departments to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current RN License
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• 5+ current years of emergency department leadership experience
• Familiarity with Medi-tech EMR
• Ensures compliance with State CMS regulations and standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policy changes to align ED practices with regulatory requirements
• Capable of managing multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritizing the scheduling of work
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
• Excellent communication skills, including staff development and retention
