Opportunity:
• Facilitates daily operations within the unit, ensuring that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively
• Promotes a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and open communication among staff members
• Leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to the organization's mission and values
• Oversees the provision of patient care within the unit, ensuring that care is delivered following established protocols, policies, and best practices
• Continuously monitors patient outcomes and staff performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
• Ensures that all patient care activities are documented accurately and promptly, in compliance with hospital standards
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care, ensuring that all aspects of the patient's needs are addressed
• Works closely with the Clinical Operations Manager or Director to align unit activities with departmental and organizational goals
• Ensures that staff are trained in and adhere to quality improvement standards and practices
• Assists in resource management, including staffing, scheduling, and allocation of supplies and equipment to ensure optimal unit functioning\
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
• The ability to obtain a valid AL RN License is required
• Minimum of three years of surgical experience preferred, with a strong foundation in both scrubbing and circulating in various surgical procedures
• Evidence of ongoing commitment to professional development and Continuing Education in nursing practices
• BLS certification is required within three months of employment
• CNOR certification is preferred upon hiring but mandatory within one year of employment
• ACLS certification preferred, demonstrating advanced life support competencies
• Competent in the use of computers and relevant software applications for documentation, patient care, and communication
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) and ability to ensure compliance with healthcare standards
• Strong leadership abilities to guide and support surgical teams, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
• Ability to maintain professional communication with colleagues, patients, and families, ensuring clarity and compassion
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
