Qualifications & Achievements:

• Increased event reporting from approximately 3500 entered/reported safety events to 10,000 through training and education efforts
• Reduced over-sedation, respiratory depression by 74% over nine years as a result of an adverse respiratory depression event by collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborates with Hospital Administration, Public Relations, Human Resources, Environment of Care, Accreditation, Palliative Care, Patient Safety, Lab, Radiology, Quality and other teams on grievances and complaints
• Works closely with the legal department for early mitigation when appropriate
• Conducts Root Cause Analysis for Sentinel Events as required by TJC, along with case reviews and drill-downs for apparent cause analysis
• Leads meetings with hospital managers and staff as warranted for risk management advice, and provide educational opportunities on documentation, communication and effective mitigation
• Management of staff development, budgetary requirements, oversight of Enterprise Risk Management Organization-wide education and integration with Employee Physician groups/clinics
• Developed Risk Management Department Programs designed to meet State & Federal requirements to include AHCA, TJC, CMA & FDA standards and guidelines
• Develops strong teams to investigate and initiate a strategy for process improvement
• Oversight of up to 10 FTEs
