• Provides staff development and education, coaching, counseling, discipline, and annual performance evaluations
• Oversees community outreach to outlying facilities and critical assess hospitals, providing training and education to rural facility nursing staff
• Plans and coordinates the implementation of departmental initiatives including skin to skin in the OR, post-anesthesia recovery of cesarean deliveries, hospital baby box program, and IBCLS scholarships for staff nurses
• Conducts formal risk assessments and implemented strategies to reduce the organization’s risk related to obstetric and neonatal services
• Identifies, establishes, implements, and evaluates clinical policies, procedures, and protocols utilizing best practices and regulatory standards as guidelines
• Developed and instituted performance improvement projects to increase unit productivity and consistently meet system benchmarks
