Interim Quality Director | RN Required | CAH | New England

This interim leadership role provides an opportunity to step into a high‑impact Quality Director position during a period of organizational transition and restructuring. The incoming leader will guide the Quality Program through immediate stabilization, assessment, and redesign while supporting executive leadership and preparing the organization for an anticipated CMS survey.

Opportunity:
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current Quality structure, workflows, reporting practices, and tracking mechanisms
• Evaluate current quality indicators, reporting practices, committee structure, and department-level engagement to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
• Implement immediate structure, stabilization, and operational improvements to strengthen the overall Quality function
• Support preparation for an anticipated CMS survey by identifying priority risks, documentation needs, and readiness gaps
• Partner closely with executive leadership to support thoughtful change management and quality program redesign
• Strengthen collaboration across departments and help increase staff and leader engagement in quality initiatives
• Help evaluate future leadership structure and support internal talent development where appropriate
• Identify opportunities to improve quality reporting, meeting cadence, follow-through, and cross-functional communication
Qualifications:
• RN, clinical background, and hospital quality leadership change management experience required
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare quality leadership experience
• Experience leading hospital quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement initiatives and assessing and improving quality program structure, workflows, dashboards, and accountability systems
• Strong knowledge of CMS standards, survey readiness, quality reporting, and hospital accreditation requirements, ideally in a Critical Access Hospital environment
• Ability to step into a transitional environment and provide immediate leadership presence, clarity, and stabilization
• Strong change management skills with the ability to build trust, engage departments, and support thoughtful restructuring while evaluating current-state operations and implementing practical, sustainable improvements
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
• Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time schedule
