Interim Risk Coordinator | Acute Care Hospital | RN Required | Remote
Location:
Opportunity:
• Manage data collection, investigation, and reporting processes for reported events, with a focus on event reporting
• Advocate for organizational patient safety initiatives
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies as required for compliance
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents to relevant authorities in accordance with legal mandates
• Develop and deliver educational programs on healthcare risk management
• Identify, investigate, and proactively mitigate risks across the entire facility
• Coordinate and deliver educational programs on risk management tailored for healthcare practitioners
• Cultivate and maintain a network of informational resources and expert contacts
• Assist leadership in devising effective risk mitigation plans for litigated claims
• Ensure adherence to reporting protocols mandated by Health System, CMS, and/or Department of Health
• Conduct thorough root cause analyses, failure mode and effect analyses, and other pertinent risk assessments
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) highly required
• Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in risk management or patient safety
• Prior experience with Midas reporting software for events and familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication
• Proficient in data management, investigative techniques, and reporting procedures
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements pertinent to hospital operations
• Experience in navigating and resolving conflicts effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills, motivational abilities, and negotiation acumen
• Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to operate autonomously as well as collaborate effectively within a remote team environment
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
