Opportunity:
• Oversee nursing staff's daily operations and activities to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care across all shifts
• Ensure adequate staffing levels, appropriate skill mix, and effective resource utilization to meet patient care needs
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing personnel, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
• Responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of nursing personnel across all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Addresses and resolves any issues or concerns related to patient care, ensuring that high standards are maintained at all times
• Facilitates effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
• Supports the ongoing professional development of nursing staff by identifying training needs and facilitating access to educational resources
• Stays current with the latest advancements in critical care nursing and trauma management, integrating new knowledge into practice
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
• The ability to obtain a valid AL RN License is required
• Minimum of five years of critical care nursing experience, with at least two years in a leadership or supervisory role within a Surgical/Trauma ICU
• Evidence of ongoing commitment to professional development and Continuing Education in nursing practices
• BLS certification is required within three months of employment
• ACLS & PALS certification preferred, demonstrating advanced life support competencies
• Advanced clinical skills in critical care nursing, with a strong focus on trauma and surgical patient management
• Competent in the use of computers and relevant software applications for documentation, patient care, and communication
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS) and ability to ensure compliance with healthcare standards
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic and high-pressure critical care environment
