Opportunity:
• This position will lead the organization’s Infection Prevention program and support and mentor 2 RN, CIC Infection Prevention FTEs
• Oversee all functions of the Infection Prevention and Control Department
• Develop, organize, and coordinate the Infection Prevention and Control program to meet Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements
• Implement practices to improve patient care through infection surveillance and prevention activities
• Design prevention activities to protect patients, employees, medical staff, service workers, volunteers, students, and visitors from the spread of organisms
• Lead collaboration with the patient care team, including the Medical Director of Infection Control
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention principles across the hospital
• Conduct surveillance based on culture results, literature trends, community issues, and hospital-identified concerns
• Develop and deliver education programs for staff on infection prevention best practices
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within two years of employment preferred
• Minimum of 2-5 years of infection prevention experience
• Demonstrated clinical and leadership skills in working with hospital and medical staff
• Working knowledge of epidemiology principles and computer proficiency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards to hospital practices
• Experience in developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures
