Interim Stroke Program Manager | RN | Hospital | Texas
Location:
Opportunity:
• Responsible for staff development regarding the care of the Stroke patient and the development of related materials
• Participates in the collection and monitoring of data for quality improvement of patient care
• Monitors the ongoing CQI process to improve the care of the stroke patient population and collaborates with the Quality Department
• Conducts monthly Stroke Program meetings for the evaluation of outcomes, policy and protocol development, and review of current best practices
• Consults with the healthcare team and patients during hospitalization
• Develops and collaborates on patient teaching materials and educational programs for nurses, clinical staff, physicians, and EMS aimed at Stroke Awareness and Intervention
• Acts as a liaison to the community by providing and organizing education and awareness of signs and symptoms of stroke, current medical treatments, risk factors, preventions, and rehabilitation services
• Provides leadership for the Emergency Department, Inpatient telemetry, Observation Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Radiology Department, Laboratory Department, and other entities within the Neurology service line related to best practices for patients
Qualifications:
• Associates Nursing degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
• CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred
• Stroke Program Coordinator Certification preferred
• 3+ years of healthcare experience and over 2+ years of quality management experience required
• Proficient in computer skills using EXCEL, PowerPoint, clinical systems and registry databasesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
• Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time schedule, M - F, or as needed
