Director of Quality | RN Required | Teaching Hospital | Texas

Opportunity:
• Reports to the Associate Vice President of Quality Management
• Directs the overall development, implementation, and integration of various regulatory, quality, patient safety, and other hospital improvement programs, using a systematic approach to monitoring the effectiveness of the program, including problem-resolution strategies
• Engages associates at all levels as participants in continual pursuit of improvement opportunities
• Researches and recommends quality management objectives
• Collaborates with physician services, nursing, other allied health professionals, ancillary and support personnel, and operational leadership to promote the implementation of evidence-based quality and patient safety initiatives
• Establishes and maintains efficient and reliable mechanisms for monitoring, analysis and reporting of quality outcomes and process improvement initiatives in alignment with regulatory standards and healthcare best practices for quality and patient safety
• Promotes and supports a comprehensive culture of quality throughout the organization and departments
• Encourages event reporting and transparency related to events, concerns, needs, and processes to identify precursor and safety events
• Manages quality data required for compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulatory and licensing requirements, including aspects of Joint Commission readiness
Qualifications:
• BSN and RN license required
• 5+ years of Quality Management experience in a large acute care setting
• CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) is required or obtained within 1 year of employment
• Proficient computer skills in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
• Experience with managing organizational change, regulatory compliance, process improvement activities and quality management
• Leadership experience working in a minimum 200 - 400+ bed hospital
• Knowledge of governmental and other regulatory standards, requirements, and guidelines
• Comprehensive knowledge of Nursing and healthcare practices and techniques
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
