• Reports to Infection Prevention Coordinator
• 450+ beds | Magnet Hospital
• Assists in surveillance activities, development, and implementation of infection control policies, procedures, and practices within the Hospital
• Identifies and monitors infection-related data (nosocomial and community-acquired), analyzes and provides information to key customers
• Reports communicable diseases to the appropriate agencies and maintains accreditation readiness and compliance within all infection control standards, including TJC, DHS, CMS, and OSHA
• Identifies Infection Prevention related educational needs of the healthcare system
• Continually evaluates all patient care and infection prevention procedures and activities within the facility while making recommendations for and taking all necessary steps toward continuous patient care improvements


• Bachelor of Nursing or Microbiology required
• RN license or Licensed Medical Technologist required
• CIC required or obtained within 3 years of employment
• 3+ years of current nursing experience or lab/microbiology experience in acute care infection prevention
• Clinical experience in critical care preferred
• Experience with MedMinded
• Current and continuing BLS training and certification
• Proven knowledge and experience in the practice of epidemiological principles and infectious disease as they relate to infection control and prevention
• Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
