Interim Infection Prevention Manager | RN | California
Location:
Opportunity:
• 400+ bed, TJC Accredited, teaching hospital
• Reports to the VP of Quality
• Primary focus on the upcoming TJC survey, reducing infections, leadership development, and mentoring of the IP team
• Evaluates potential for patient care improvements and initiate improvements for supplemental IC practices, procedures, and products
• Provides advanced professional and clinical leadership direction on all infection prevention matters across the campus
• Works in partnership with Executives, Nurse Managers, Physician partners, and other key stakeholders to define and clarify the strategic direction and operational plan for infection prevention control and communicate a shared vision
• Reports communicable diseases to the appropriate agencies and maintains accreditation readiness and compliance with all infection control standards, including TJC, DHS, CMS, and OSHA
• Works collaboratively with physicians and staff throughout the organization to identify opportunities for improvement in infection prevention, formulate action plans and evaluate the effectiveness
• Prepares statistics and other pertinent data and reports to the Infection Control Committee
• Participates in investigation and reporting of hospital infection outbreaks
• Assists in periodic surveillance for Risk Management and Quality Management
• Directly provides Infection Control education to staff, physicians, patients, visitors, and the community
• Manages critical data for special projects and studies utilizing epidemiological principles and statistical techniques
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
• CIC preferred
• RN required
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years experience in an Infection Prevention leadership role
• Minimum 5 years experience in Infection Prevention in acute care settings
• Experience with MedMined Software a plus
•CA regulatory and IC construction standards highly valuable for this assignment
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
•Available to travel to the client-site and work a full-time schedule, M - F, or as needed
