• Reports to the Director of Infection Prevention
• Educates individuals and groups about the risk, prevention, transmission, and control of infection, disease-specific care, appropriate precautions, and appropriate assessments
• Establishes accepted standards and develop, implement, monitor, and revise infection control policies and procedures to assure compliance with the standards
• Investigates, manages, and conducts surveillance of suspected and confirmed outbreaks of infection
• Provides consultations and conducts trainings and support for prevention and control strategies related to recently completed infection risk assessments
• Collects, analyzes and interprets infection-control data
• Notifies local, state, and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required
• Plans, implements, manages, and evaluates infection prevention and control activities
• Collaborates closely with Employee Health Services to identify and report infection risks for staff exposures and implements risk management programs


• Bachelor’s degree required
• RN, MT(ASCP), or MPH required
• CIC Required, or obtained within 2 years of employment
• 2+ years of current acute care and ambulatory experience required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Familiar with sterilization and disinfection best practices
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff
