• Reports to a highly supportive Director of Quality
• 100 bed, TJC Accredited Hospital
• 2 FTEs
• Report communicable diseases to the appropriate agencies, and maintain accreditation readiness and compliance within all infection control standards, including TJC, DHS, CMS, and OSHA
• Perform annual risk assessment and develops action plans from the previous year activities
• Work collaboratively with physicians and staff throughout the organization to identify opportunities for improvement in infection prevention, formulate action plans and evaluate the effectiveness
• Work with the data analyst in preparation of reports and statistical data for the infection control committee, medical staff, and other committees as needed
• Confer with staff nurses on all patient units regularly to determine the occurrence of nosocomial infections
• Participate in investigation and reporting of hospital infection outbreaks
• Research and identify new trends in IC prevention methodologies and shares with the appropriate audience
• Directly provide Infection Control education to staff, physicians, patients, visitors, and the community
• Co-chair the medical staff Infection Control committee
• Responsible for the recruitment, retention, and development of the department staff, including but not limited to hiring, performance evaluation, and management of a high performing EH/IP team


• Bachelor’s degree required
• RN required
• CIC required
• 3-5 years of leadership experience in Infection Control and in an acute care setting
• Working knowledge of Employee Health reporting standards preferred but not required
• Experience with IC NET and Meditech is a plus
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and patient's families
• Demonstrated mastery of communication and leadership behavioral competencies, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
