Galileo Search is seeking an experienced Quality and Patient Safety Consultant for a high-profile interim assignment in the metropolitan Northeastern United States

ABOUT THE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY
• Reports to the Interim Director of Quality and indirectly to the CMO and CNO
• Must have strong executive presence and political savvy, including communication skills that include appreciating varying perspectives while offering insights and recommendations
• Able to work effectively with a range of business, clinical, and academic leaders; can move projects forward in a setting of distributed accountability
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed structure and have the professional presence to make recommendations to senior leadership
• Works as an autonomous strategic partner requiring limited supervision
• Lead well-scoped complex interdepartmental and entity performance improvement projects
• Assures that performance improvement projects align with established priorities for clinical quality, access, and service excellence
• No FTEs but will interface with a well-trained team of Quality Nurse Specialists (Green and Black Belts), Data Analysts, Administrative Support Staff, and Key Directors while being supported by all
• Develops and leads complex interdepartmental and multi-entity performance improvement projects that address identified gaps in performance or aspirations for higher levels of outcomes
• Leads the assessment and action planning of all relevant internal and external comparative data for quality, safety, and efficiency, relative to assigned service line patient care and patient experience outcomes
• Continually monitors the external environment for changes/new developments that affect quality and safety and works with leadership to make proactive changes, so the service line and organization is on track to meet the changing environment
• In coordination with leadership, organizes the practice transformation teams
• Provides support and organization to service line leadership for accountable care initiatives such as CPC+ and other mechanisms designed to drive value-based care
• Oversees and facilitates efforts of practice transformation teams in the development of clinical pathways and other components of practice transformation
• Collaborates with service line leadership, Performance Improvement, and related departments to ensure that crucial learning from PI efforts are disseminated and adopted across the service line
• Provides coordination of service line quality improvement and practice transformation efforts with other initiatives
Qualifications:
• Licensed Clinical Professional: RN, MD, RPh, or similar credential preferred
• Six Sigma Certification highly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of performance improvement in a clinical setting
• Behavioral service experience an additional plus
• Proven program/project management skills, ability to manage-up effectively, and the ability to drive multiple projects with overlapping time frames
• Highly effective communication skills in various methods, verbal, written, and presentations
