Galileo Search has an immediate opening for an experienced Interim Emergency Department Director for our Acute Care client based in Texas.

Opportunity:

• 3 - 6 month assignment
• Reports to a highly supportive Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
• Level IV Trauma Center
• Approximately 21,000 Emergency Department visits per year
• 13 ED Bays
• 23 FTEs
• Key focus on provider relations, the staffing matrix, discharge follow up and establishing operational expectations for the department
• The right candidate will have a servant heart leadership style – must have grace, be an educator, and someone that can gain the confidence of the providers and staff
• Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, strategies, and services for the unit
• Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards
• Coordinates and establishes nursing care practices
• Strong knowledge of nursing practice standards and administrative standards of practice required
• Effectively manages the use of staffing and fiscal resources
• Experience creating and leading high performing teams as well as influencing and managing change
• Demonstrated commitment and focus to patients and their families
• Able to integrate divergent viewpoints to align with the mission and values of the organization as a whole

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred
• Active Texas RN or compact RN licensure
• Proven and current leadership experience successfully directing operations and nursing staff for a comparable ED department
• Track record of moving the needle with HCAHPS, LeapFrog scores and current TJC accreditation
• Experience with COVID-19 procedures and protocols
• Excellent communication skills to include staff development and retention
• Track record of partnering with leadership, peers, and staff to develop and implement performance, quality, and best practices initiatives
