We have an immediate interim opportunity for an experienced Infection Prevention Consultant. This jewel of a location provides a rich history, small town charm, and friendly locals. Opportunity:
• Reports to the Chief Nursing Executive
• Conducts ongoing surveillance investigation and follow up of infections through review of admission diagnoses, microbiology culture results, isolation orders, patient records, consultation requests, and post-discharge surveillance
• Analyzes trends & risk factors and designs & evaluates prevention and control strategies
• Participates in investigation and reporting of hospital infection outbreaks
• Performs a program assessment and makes recommendations for correction and improvement
Qualifications:
• RN - Any State or MT(ASCP)
• CIC required
• Outbreak experience highly preferred
• Children's hospital experience and ventilator-associated outbreak experience a plus
• Strong mentorship and Infection Prevention education experience required
