Galileo Search is representing an immediate interim opportunity in beautiful Northern Texas. Our client is a state of the art, nonprofit, short term acute care facility focused on providing superior health care services that enhance the quality of life and provide hope for a healthier future for patients and their families.

The Interim Director of Materials Management is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment.

Opportunity:

The Interim Director of Materials Management is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment.

• Potential 3+ month assignment
• Reports to the CFO
• 8 FTEs

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Directs and coordinates material management functions
• Manages purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment
• Maintain materials accountability systems to support hospital
• Accountable for all medical supply/services spend and resultant financial results with respect to budget/forecasting/targets
• Accountable for direct reports and their productivity
• Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams
• Represents Supply Chain in various committees and meetings
• Directs product conversion efforts
• Accountable for meeting Supply Chain measures of success related to spend/inventory/HR/customer satisfaction
• Responsible for continuous improvement of material flow, utilization analysis and supply chain optimization
• Charged to continually develop hospital identified savings prospects and exploit known opportunities
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree Business Administration required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• A minimum five years’ experience in a Materials Management supervisory capacity
• Supply Chain Management experience in a specialty surgery facility highly preferred
• Cerner experience a plus
• Proficient in personal computer operation and software applications
• Ability to comprehend and describe general or non-detailed features of all equipment operated by an acute care hospital
• Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure or stress
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
• Proven skill in establishing priorities among the essential functions of the job and coordinating these functions with others
